The Millcreek Arts Council and Salt Lake County Millcreek Library are excited to display the artwork of Willow Manning during the month of November. A reception with Willow will be held at the Millcreek Library from 6-7 PM on November 3rd. Music will be performed by Brother Run and light refreshments will be served.
Willow Manning is a 25 year old artist originally from Jacksonville Florida. After leaving Florida in 2019 to travel, Willow has eventually touched base down in Salt Lake City, UT. Specializing in acrylic paint, Willow really enjoys using art as a way to express emotions and vulnerability for mental health. Virtually representing things such as “overthinking”, Willow feels that a picture really is worth a thousand words and expression can be something that is shared under multiple fonts. Having a background in customer service and management Willow has started taking art more seriously in 2019 as a form of therapy as well as expression. Previously known for art being “creepy, but cool” Willow believes that vulnerability isn’t always happy, positive, beautiful or ugly. However, vulnerability with art makes you feel something and sometimes that feeling of uncomfort can be “creepy”, but isn’t it beautiful how art alone can help you understand your emotions more with a bit of uncomfort?
