The Millcreek Arts Council and Salt Lake County Library Millcreek Branch are excited to start August with a new exhibit at the Library at 2266 Evergreen Ave. This month’s artist is Mary Phillips.
While she taught art in education, she was drawn to painting but didn’t pursue it. When Covid drove all of us inside, she dug her canvases, acrylic paints and brushes out of the closet. She started to have lunch, catch up on family news and paint for hours with her brother Paul every Monday afternoon. To Mary, being together sharing the creative process of painting is incredible. Mary carries that over to teaching friends to paint and find their visual voices.
A reception will be held at the library from 6-6:45 PM
on August 2nd. Please join us for light refreshments and musical accompaniment by Harvest Home.
.
Harvest Home, Annie and Dan Eastmond, will provide celtic background music for the Millcreek Art Opening.
They are also performance Storytellers, often weaving music into their tales. Between them they play 6 different instruments (guitar, mandolin, concertina, fiddle, banjo, pennywhistle) and sing.
